Egypt’s New Alamein City Authority earns ISO certification in crisis, risk management

Egypt’s New Alamein City Authority has received international ISO certification in crisis, risk, and quality management, becoming the first city authority under the New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA) to achieve the accreditation, the Ministry of Housing said Wednesday.

Minister of Housing Sherif El-Sherbiny praised the achievement, calling it the result of intensive institutional efforts and the implementation of comprehensive systems based on the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and governance. He said the certification reflects the ongoing administrative and service development in New Alamein City alongside its rapid urban and economic growth.

Mohamed Khalafallah, head of the New Alamein City Authority, said the accreditation marks a “pivotal step” in the authority’s development, demonstrating its commitment to global best practices in crisis and risk management, service quality, and institutional performance.

The certification, awarded by Future Better, includes ISO 22301:2019, ISO 22361:2022, and ISO 50001, covering crisis and risk management as well as energy efficiency. Khalafallah said it reflects the authority’s readiness and capacity to professionally manage challenges and major national projects in line with modern international standards.

The achievement aligns with government directives to elevate the operational standards of Egypt’s new city authorities, transforming them into professional institutions capable of supporting large-scale developmental and urban projects.
