EGX closes in red on 14 Jan

Egypt’s stock market (EGX) closed red on Wednesday.

  • The benchmark index, EGX30, went down by 1.43 per cent, to 43,058.34 points.
  • The Shariah index, EGX33, dropped by 0.84 per cent, to 4,553.3 points.
  • The EGX35-LV index declined by 1.44 per cent to 4,525.79 points
  • The SMEs index, EGX70, plunged by 2.44 per cent to 12,396.96 points.
  • The EGX100 index fell by 2.09 per cent to 16,648.52 points.

The total market cap reached 2,980,666,285,001 Egyptian pounds.

The Arabs and non-Arab foreigners were net buyers with a total of 1,587,163,626 Egyptian pounds and 7,167,216,519 Egyptian pounds, respectively. Meanwhile, the Egyptians were net sellers with a total of ,754,380,145 Egyptian pounds.

Top gainers

  1. The shares of Alexandria Spinning & Weaving (SPINALEX) went up by 5.83 per cent to 12.700 Egyptian pounds a share.
  2. The shares of Subscription Rights Of Atlas for Investment and Food Indus-1 climbed by 5.63 per cent to 1.500 Egyptian pounds a share.
  3. The shares of Arab Valves Company rose by 5.22 per cent to 8.460 Egyptian pounds a share.

Top losers

  1. The shares of International Co For Investment & Development dropped by 7.19 per cent to 3.870 Egyptian pounds a share.
  2. The shares of Arabia for Investment and Development sank by 7.19 per cent to 0.387 Egyptian pounds a share.
  3. The shares of Samad Misr -EGYFERT went down by 6.34 per cent to 178.020 Egyptian pounds a share.
