Egypt’s PM pledges EGP4 bln in wheat price support to farmers
Egypt will provide an additional 4 billion Egyptian pounds ($85.81 million) to compensate farmers for wheat price differences, Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly said Sunday.
The support is part of the government’s new social protection package, aimed at protecting low- and middle-income households and ensuring fair compensation for wheat growers ahead of the harvest.
Madbouly said the funding is intended to strengthen the agricultural sector, safeguard farmers’ incomes, and support broader efforts to maintain food affordability.
