Egypt’s SCZONE Teams Up with Shaghalni to boost workforce in strategic sectors

The Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE) has signed a cooperation agreement with Shaghalni, a company specialising in training and employment services, to supply skilled labour for its industrial and port projects, the authority said on Wednesday.

The partnership aims to meet the workforce needs of current and upcoming projects, facilitate hiring for investors operating in the zone, and enhance the skills of young Egyptians, particularly in the Canal cities and Sinai. It also includes creating a comprehensive database of job requirements for technical, vocational, and logistical roles, alongside joint employment fairs and training workshops.

SCZONE Chairman Waleid Gamal El-Dein highlighted that collaboration with a specialised training and employment company strengthens SCZONE’s readiness, leveraging its strategic location, modern infrastructure, energy resources, and access to global markets through international trade agreements.

“Investing in human capital is a top priority for the Suez Canal Economic Zone. It’s a core part of our strategy and our main competitive edge, given Egypt’s strong talent across both specialised professions and skilled trades,” said Gamal El-Dein.

“The rapid evolution of industry and technology requires developing skills for sectors such as renewable energy, pharmaceuticals, automotive, and advanced port operations,” he added.
