Indorama, Misr Phosphate sign partnership for SCZONE fertilizer plant

Indorama and Misr Phosphate signed on Wednesday a partnership agreement to establish a new phosphate fertilizer plant in the El-Sokhna industrial area of the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE).

The project, led by global company Indorama through its Netherlands-based subsidiary Indorama Holdings B.V., and Misr Phosphate, will create an integrated industrial complex for fertilizers and basic chemicals.

The first phase will have an annual production capacity of 600,000 tons, with a total investment of $525 million. It will produce phosphate fertilizers and a range of high-quality associated products, benefiting from the zone’s strategic location and advanced infrastructure.

The project is part of a series of recent strategic investments in the SCZONE, aimed at reducing import dependence and strengthening Egypt’s national economy.
