Egypt disburses over Egyptian pounds 4 billion in April cash support to 4.7 million families under the Takaful and Karama programme, Minister of Social Solidarity Maya Morsy said on Wednesday.
Disbursement began on Wednesday, 15 April, with beneficiaries accessing funds through ATMs nationwide from early morning, alongside the option to carry out electronic payments, government transactions, and purchases.
The Ministry of Social Solidarity is monitoring the process in coordination with governors and social solidarity directorates to ensure smooth operations.
The programme provides cash support to 4.7 million vulnerable families, covering nearly 17 million citizens, with an annual budget of around Egyptian pounds 54 billion.
