Egypt’s Prime Minister inaugurates $3m Pearl Polyurethane factory in Sokhna

Egypt’s Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly inaugurated on Thursday the Pearl Polyurethane NA factory in the Sokhna Industrial Zone, with investments worth $3 million.

The factory is located within the Main Development Company’s industrial developer area and is part of the plug-and-play, ready-to-operate factories. It spans an area of 5,090 square metres. The facility provides 20 direct jobs, with a first-phase production capacity of up to 10,000 tons annually.

The inauguration took place during Madbouly’s tour of the Sokhna Industrial Zone. Madbouly said the government is keen to attract feeder and intermediate investments for the automotive and home appliance sectors, noting that such industries form a key pillar of the country’s industrial localisation strategy.

During the inauguration, officials briefed the Prime Minister that the factory specialises in advanced chemical products, particularly polyurethane formulations used as supporting inputs across multiple industries, including refrigerators and water heaters, car seat manufacturing, insulated wall and roof panels, and flexible foam for furniture.

Madbouly said the project serves vital industrial sectors by supplying essential raw materials for both the home appliance and automotive industries, adding that the state’s drive to localise feeder and intermediate industries represents a significant step in implementing the national strategy for localising the automotive industry.

He also said the government is continuing consultations with major global automotive manufacturers to expand their presence in Egypt, particularly in electric vehicles and modern transport systems.
