Egypt’s Minister of Trade and Industry Mounir Fakhry Abdel-Nour held a meeting on Saturday with a number of representatives of UN development programs operating in Egypt. The minister has revealed that Egypt will start 18 new developmental projects with the UN worth US$ 92.6 million in sectors of agricultural processing, energy and SMEs.
The meeting was attended by Giovanna Ceglie – UN Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) Representative, Head of Regional Office in Egypt and UN Resident Coordinator in Egypt Ms Anita Nirody.
The meeting took up projections of joint cooperation and means of taking advantage of development projects, which are planned to be implemented in Egypt in collaboration with the United Nations and its specialized agencies.
The minister said, in a statement on Saturday, the government is keen on promoting cooperation between Egypt and all international organizations, particularly development-oriented agencies.
