EGX closes mixed on 12 August

Egypt’s stock market (EGX) closed mixed on Wednesday.

  • The benchmark index, EGX30, went up by 0.38 per cent to 55,039.76 points.
  • The Shariah index, EGX33, climbed by 0.22 per cent to 6,475.04 points.
  • The EGX35-LV index dropped by 0.12 per cent to 6,824.36 points
  • The SMEs index, EGX70, fell by 1.31 per cent to 21,630.6 points.
  • The EGX100 index sank by 0.91 per cent to 27,915.05 points.

The total market cap reached 4,209,813,485,345 Egyptian pounds.

Egyptians and Arabs were net sellers, with 583,340,585 Egyptian pounds and 215,047,840 pounds, respectively. Meanwhile, non-Arab foreigners were net buyers with a total of 798,388,425 pounds.

Top Gainers

  1. The shares of Industrial & Engineering Projects rose by 20.00 per cent to 0.870 Egyptian pounds per share.
  2. The shares of International Co For Investment & Development climbed by 19.96 per cent to 11.780 Egyptian pounds a share.
  3. The shares of Misr Beni Suef Cement rose by 10.45 per cent to 351.250 Egyptian pounds a share.

Top losers

  1. The shares of El-Nile Co. For Pharmaceuticals And Chemical Industries dropped by 13.48 per cent to 398.000 Egyptian pounds a share.
  2. The shares of Egyptian International Pharmaceuticals (EIPICO) sank by 7.19 per cent to 142.510 Egyptian pounds a share.
  3. The shares of Misr Hotels went down by 7.19 per cent to 19.220 Egyptian pounds a share.
