Egypt’s PM inaugurates 9 SCZONE projects

Egypt’s Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly began a tour of the integrated Sokhna Industrial Zone on Sunday to inaugurate 9 new industrial projects with total investments of $84.5 million and nearly 2,000 jobs.

Madbouly said the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE) has become an integrated platform for industry and logistics services and a key pillar of Egypt’s economic development, supported by its strategic location, integrated ports and industrial zones, and advanced infrastructure.

He added that SCZONE has attracted high-quality investments, localised strategic industries, and strengthened Egypt’s production and export capabilities, supporting its position as a regional manufacturing hub and gateway to global markets.

The projects span building materials and finishing products, furniture, textiles and synthetic turf, chemical and mining industries, engineering and electrical industries, and medical industries and equipment.

SCZONE Chairman Moustafa Shaikhon said the inaugurations include new projects, expansions of existing factories, and initial operating phases of projects planned for further expansion.

The projects reflect growing investor confidence in SCZONE and support efforts to deepen local manufacturing, expand production capacity, create jobs, and strengthen integration between industrial zones and ports.
