Egypt’s financial regulator – the Egyptian Financial Supervisory Authority (EFSA) will be participating in the 38th Annual Conference of the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) which is set to take place from 15 to 19 September 2013 in Luxembourg.
Mr. Sherif Samy, EFSA’s newly-appointed Chairman, told the state-run news agency MENA on Saturday that IOSCO’s 38th Annual Conference is one of the biggest and most crucial money markets events. The IOSCO is an association of organisations that regulate the world’s securities and futures markets.
Taking part in the IOSCO’s annual conference for this year will represent a great chance to explain to the global money market organizations the latest developments in Egypt’s domestic political scene since the outbreak of June 30 uprising, taking into consideration that such political developments are of temporary nature and are quite expected.
Egypt’s participation in the IOSCO’s conference will contribute to convey a positive reassurance message about the current investment atmosphere in the country, the Egyptian top official added.
This year’s 5-day program covers the future of Growth Markets, challenges for Supervisory Authorities, Responsible Investments and long-term savings and pensions that will be discussed during meetings and workshop sessions at the Nouveau Centre de Conférence du Kirchberg, Luxembourg.
