Egypt’s Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Karim Badawi, discussed on Tuesday cooperation with Honeywell Technologies to deploy advanced technologies in oil refinery development, improve operational efficiency and reduce emissions.
The talks took place during Badawi’s participation in the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC) 2026.
Badawi stressed the importance of leveraging Honeywell’s technological expertise to modernise Egypt’s petroleum infrastructure, maximise the use of existing assets, increase productivity and improve environmental performance.
He highlighted the ministry’s programme to develop and modernise oil refineries, which includes six projects with estimated investments of around $4 billion. He also underscored the importance of expanding cooperation with Honeywell, which already works with several Egyptian refineries, including MIDOR and ANRPC.
In the petrochemicals sector, Badawi discussed cooperation to support the Egyptian Petrochemicals Holding Company (ECHEM) ‘s five-year plan for 2026–2030 through advanced technologies, training programmes, knowledge transfer, and technical skills development for Egyptian engineers.
