Council: Egyptian Food Exports Record US$2.7 billion by End-November

Egypt’s food exports, during the last eleven months ending on 30 November 2014, have reached US$2.7 billion, 4% y-o-y higher, said Food Export Council.

According to Tameem El-Dawy – Marketing Manager at Food Export Council, Saudi Arabia still captures the highest volumes of Egypt’s food exports, which reached US$306 million by end of November.

Ranked second, Libya seized US$195 million of Egyptian food exports in 11 months, then UAE of US$140 million and Jordan of US$124 million, he added.

The Egyptian official also referred to a number of countries registered a remarkable growth in receiving Egyptian food exports such as India (US$39 million), Morocco (US$31 million), and Palestine (US$26 million).

During January-November 2014, El-Dawy said aromas topped the Egyptian food exported items, recording US$278 million, followed by processed cheese with US$227 million, then sugar with US$166 million, and chocolate with US$129 million.
