Egypt’s building material exports seen 10-15% growth

Egypt’s exports of building materials are expected to post a 10-15 percent growth to hit 23 billion Egyptian pounds (US$3 billion) by end of 2016, an official from the country’s export council said Sunday.

Walid Gamal Eldin – Chairman of Export Council for Building Materials (ECBM) – further told Amwal Al Ghad that marble sector is thriving and considered to be a positive signal of an improvement in the exports during 2015.  This sector is promising in spite of the vigorous competitor such as Turkey, Spain, and Italy.

The Council seeks to send trade missions to Africa starting with Kenya and Tanzania, aiming to support the sector’s exports to the African markets.

Furthermore, the export council is cooperating with the Egyptian commercial representation in Lebanon to send a trade mission with the goal of meeting the Lebanese traders who work in East Africa region.
