The volume of trade exchange between Egypt and Russia jumped 9.8 percent during the first four months of 2016, Trade Representative at Russian embassy to Cairo, Fedor A. Lukashin said Saturday.
According to statistics of Russian customs, the trade exchange between Moscow and Cairo reached around US$1.504 billion; Russian exports to Egypt worth US$1.357 billion and Egyptian exports to Russia worth US$183.6 million.
Lukashin told reporters that Egyptian exports to Russia included fruits (US$117 million), vegetables (US$34 million), clothes (US$15 million), pharmaceutical (US$3.6 million), and carpets (US$1.7 million).
On other side, cereals lead the list of Russian exports to Egypt during January-April 2016 with exports estimated at US$404 million, getting 30 percent of the total Russian exports.
Following cereals, exports of metal products recorded US$159 million then wood products (US$105 million), automotive (US$62 million), copper (US$ 62 million), and oil and natural gas (US$18 million).
