The accomplishment rate of works to develop the technological infrastructure in a number of government institutions has reached 80 percent this June, senior source in Egypt’s communication ministry told Amwal Al Ghad on Sunday.
The accomplished projects have cost 60 million Egyptian pounds ($6.7 million).
Egyptian Ministry of Communications and Information Technology announced earlier this year approval of 52 projects to modernise the technological infrastructure of governmental entities at a cost of 250 million pounds ($28.3 million).
The source clarified that the total sum of money had not yet been collected as the projects are still under construction.
A project completion report by the MCIT was placed before the Egyptian parliament last week, the source further added.
These projects include the development and modernisation of health, transportation systems, as well as agriculture and tourism sectors, aiming to make services provided in government institutions more accessible for the citizens.
