Sugar reserves sufficient until next February: Egypt’s Supply Minister

Egypt’s strategic reserves of sugar are safe and sufficient until February 2017, Supply Minister Mohamed Ali Al-Shikh asserted Sunday.

He stated that the ministry contracted on purchasing 420,000 tonnes of sugar to be injected into markets during current month.

The ministry continues pumping 50,000 tonnes of sugar through its mobile vehicles, consumer complexes, and commercial chains to be sold at the price of 5 Egyptian pounds per kilo.
