CBE to issue t-bonds, t-bills worth 13 billion Egyptian pounds in two days

Egypt’s central bank will be issuing on Sunday and Monday treasury bonds and treasury bills totalling 13 billion Egyptian pounds ($1.4 billion), aimed to fill the country’s budget deficit.

In coordination of Ministry of Finance, the central bank will offer on Sunday two treasury bills; the first is worth 5.7 billion pounds, to mature in 91 days. The second will be at value of 5.5 billion pounds, to mature in 266 days.

For Monday, CBE is set to issue two treasury bonds; the first will be worth 1.25 billion pounds, to mature in five years. The second will amount to 5.5 billion pounds, to mature in 10 years.

State budget deficit is expected to reach 322 billion pounds by end of the current financial year.
