GAFI: 1,135 projects in Egypt’s free zones worth $1.5bn

The total number of investment projects in different free zones reached 1,135 by the end of June 2016 with total investments of 25.2 billion Egyptian pounds (around US$1.5 billion).

Head of Free Zones Affairs Division at Egypt’s General Authority for Investment (GAFI), Hossam Haddad stated Thursday that foreign capitals seized 18 percent of these projects, representing 1.9 billion pounds of total issued capitals that worth 11 billion pounds.

Haddad clarified that the 1,135 projects provide around 184 billion job opportunities since they are divided upon different free zones all over Egypt.
