Egypt’s total exports of ceramic and sanitary wares declined by 28.6 percent in January-September 2016 to around US$172 million versus US$241 million a year earlier.
Executive Director of state’s Export Council for Building Materials, Hanan Ismail told Amwal Al Ghad Monday that ceramic exports dropped by 27 percent during the first nine months of 2016 to US$88 million opposed to US$136 million at the same period of 2015.
Meanwhile, Egypt’s nine-month exports of sanitary wares recorded US$84 million versus US$105 million a year earlier, making a 10 percent decline.
Moreover, Ismail clarified that dollar crisis in Egypt is the factor behind the drop in exports of building materials sector.
