Egypt’s trade exchange with Cyprus surged 42.4 percent during the first seven months of 2017, reaching €41.3 million ($48.1 million) compared to €29 million last year.
The North African country also made a 10 percent growth in its commodity and petroleum exports, recording €22.5 million, compared to €20.5 million during the same comparable period, a recent report released by the Egyptian Commercial Service Office (ECS) said.
Egypt has not exported oil products to Cyprus during the January-June period, while its commodity exports jumped 88 percent to €22.5 million from €12 million last year, the report added.
Meanwhile, Cyprus’ exports to Egypt also rose 57.4 percent during the seven-month period, reaching around €18.8 million compared to €8 million last year, according to the report.
