Egypt’s Minister of Health Ahmed Emad has unveiled the first blood derivatives plant in the country, which he described as a “historic leap” following the new integrated healthcare law and the eradication of Virus C.
Three global companies have submitted bids for the plant, whose costs are estimated at 6 billion pounds and should be completed within an 18-month time frame, he added.
These companies are from Italy, China, and South Korea, the minister told Middle East News Agency (MENA) on Wednesday.
The final decision in terms of technicalities will be announced on 11 February, he added.
Having a source of plasma is a national treasure that will save the country millions normally paid in importing plasma, Emad revealed.
