SIAC begins concrete works in New Alamein’s two towers next month

Egypt’s SIAC Holding Construction will start the concrete works of two towers in New Alamein City, northwest of Cairo, within next August, said its chief business development officer on Thursday.

New Alamein is one of the fourth generation cities being built in Egypt in some of the most up-to-date architectural styles, and is scheduled to be finalised in one-year timeframe. The anticipated city is planned to have universities and schools as well as various services and tourist activities. It is expected to accommodate 400,000 populations.

“The lengths of the two towers are to reach around 33 floors, at a built-up area of 155,000 square metres,” Ahmed Azmi told Amwal Al Ghad, adding that his company is currently completing the infrastructure works.

During the last few months, SIAC was mandated to establish New Alamein International University over 150 feddans. The first phase will be delivered within 2019.

In December 2017, Egyptian Minister of Housing Moustafa Madbouly and Minister of Higher Education Khaled Abdel- Ghaffar signed a cooperation protocol to establish New Alamein University for Sciences and Technology in New Alamein City.

The university will contribute to the development of the city, Madbouly said in a statement. The university, which is the first of its kind in the city, is set to open its doors to students in the academic year 2019/2020.

The university will include departments of engineering and technology, basic sciences, pharmacy, medicine, international law, management, economics, and political science as well as arts and design.

Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi last March inaugurated New Alamein city on a space of 48,000 feddans, at a cost worth two billion Egyptian pounds ($111,7 million).
