Local, Arab buying boosts Egypt’s EGX early Monday
The indices of the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) started Monday’s trading session in green territory on the back of local and Arab purchases.
By 10:22 am Cairo time, the benchmark EGX30 index edged up 0.09 percent to 12,992.04 points.
The small- and mid-cap EGX70 index added 0.05 percent to 668.84 points, whereas the broader EGX100 index inched up 0.04 percent to 1,678.98 points.
The equal-weighted EGX50 index levelled up 0.35 percent to 2,048.98 points.
Trading volume amounted to around 10.04 million shares exchanged at a turnover 26.83 million pounds through 831 transactions.
Foreign investors were net sellers with 1.26 million pounds, while Egyptian and Arab investors were net buyers with 291,960 pounds and 977,040 pounds, respectively.
