Egypt, UK’s BlueMac ink MOU for waste management joint venture

UK’s BlueMac Company on Tuesday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Egyptian National Organisation for Military Production to establish a waste management joint venture in Egypt.

In a press release, the British embassy in Cairo said the company will jointly manufacture, supply and assemble high-tech waste management tailored solutions in Egypt.

The MoU paves the way for the establishment of a joint venture which will promote increased UK/Egypt collaboration in manufacturing waste-management machineries, the statement added.

The UK’s Trade Envoy to Egypt Sir Jeffrey Donaldson and Minister of Military Production Mohamed El-Assar witnessed the signing of the MoU.

“I am delighted to witness the signing of this MoU. I am especially pleased to see that a world class company from Northern Ireland is supporting Egypt’s growing expertise in this sector. This newly agreed cooperation reflects our commitment to invest in Egypt and rest of Africa to fulfil our objective to be the largest G7 investor in Africa by 2022,” UK Trade Envoy Sir Jeffrey Donaldson said.

British Ambassador to Egypt Sir Geoffrey Adams described the agreement as one which “reflects the UK’s commitment to cooperate with Egypt, and our objective to encourage business and investment across a wide range of sectors in the country.”
