Revenues from Suez Canal transit fees 2.8% up in 9 months – c.bank
Revenues from toll fees imposed on vessels passing Egypt’s Suez Canal rose 2.8 percent year-on-year during the first nine months of financial year 2018/2019.
Revenues registered $4.3 billion during the first nine months of 2018/2019 from $4.2 billion during the same period a year earlier, according to central bank official data released on Thursday.
The surplus of the travel balance rose to around $7.3 billion during the first nine months of last financial year from $5.5 billion during the same period of a year earlier, the data further showed.
The services surplus also climbed to around $9.8 billion, compared with $7.8 billion during the nine months of the financial year 2017/2018.
