Egypt is developing various gas fields at concessions off the Mediterranean Sea to add nearly 8.5 billion cubic feet daily by 2022, an official source said on Sunday.
“The gas fields will be developed within a three-year timeframe, a move aimed to fill the local market needs in various sectors and start exporting later on,” the source in the state-run Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Co. (EGAS) said.
Egypt had earlier succeeded in developing four natural gas projects in the Mediterranean Sea in a year, with a production capacity of 6.5 billion cubic feet.
