Egypt’s ready-made garments exports rose six percent to $976 million from the January-July period from $915 million in the same period last year.
In its monthly report, the Egyptian Textiles, Apparel, and Home Textiles Export Council said the sector exports climbed ten percent in July, recording $161 million against $147 million in July 2018.
US ranked first as the top importing market for the Egyptian ready-made clothes, followed by Spain, then Germany, UK, and North Ireland.
The exports to US were estimated at $541 million in the first seven months of the year, surging 20 percent, and $46 million to Arab countries, rising 26 percent, the report stated.
