Hassan Abdalla, governor of the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE), was named winner of the Man of the Year Award at the Amwal Al Ghad Awards Ceremony 2026 on Monday, in recognition of his leadership and contributions to Egypt’s banking sector and broader economy.
The award recognised Abdalla’s role in steering monetary policy and supporting financial stability during a period marked by economic reforms and global market volatility.
CBE First Sub-Governor May Abulnaga has received the award on behalf of Abdalla.
Presented during the 11th edition of the annual awards ceremony in Cairo, the honour highlighted his contribution to strengthening Egypt’s banking system and advancing the country’s economic resilience.
Held under the patronage of Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly, the event brought together senior government officials, business leaders and financial executives to celebrate achievements across Egypt’s economic and corporate sectors.
