Egypt bourse’s market cap loses 10 bln pounds in a week

The indices of Egypt’s bourse dropped in the week ended 5 December, as market capitalisation lost 10 billion Egyptian pounds ($619.4 million), according to Mubasher on Thursday.

The benchmark index, EGX 30, shed 227 points, or 1.6 percent, to 13,622 points. The EGX 70 index declined 1.26 percent to 526 points.

The EGX 100 index levelled down by 1.4 percent to 1,382 points, while the equally-weighted index, EGX 50, decreased 2.15 percent to 1,968 points.

Market capitalisation declined to 695.19 billion pounds over the week, compared to 705.1 billion pounds in the previous week.
