Egypt braces for First Plant to export Modern Barns to MENA Markets

Egyptian Supply Ministry is currently studying establishing large factory to manufacture modern and upgraded barns to be exported to the Middle East states, Khlaed Hanafy- minister- said Sunday.

The minister made these remarks during a press conference held in al Amreya barn area, Alexandria to inaugurate the modern barns.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by David Blumberg -regional chief executive of US-based Blumberg Grain, Stephen G. Fakan-U.S. Consul General to Alexandria, and other two Egyptian officials.

Hanafy noted that Egypt is currently implementing the largest national project to insure wheat’s quality as the government is currently carrying out 61 silos to store grains with new capacity of 2.7 million tonns of wheat.

He added that a number of silos and storage domes would be established in Damietta’s Logistic Center for cereals and grains trade that will achieve new capacity estimated at 7 million tonns.

Moreover, Egypt has developed and converted 105 warehousing yards to be modern for storing and classifying wheat in 79 locations in 20 governorates implemented by Armed Forces’ Engineering Authority and American Blumberg Grain, Hanafy noted.
