The Egyptian Ambassador to Sudan Hani Salah, revealed on Monday a Qatari-Egyptian initiative to build a hospital in Sudan, as the health sector in the war-torn country suffers a severe shortage of medical services.
This comes at a time when the Sudanese army is intensifying its efforts to achieve gains in the capital, Khartoum, in some of the fiercest battles since the start of the conflict with the Rapid Support Forces (RSF).
Sudan has faced months of violence that has killed hundreds of civilians and forced more than 80 percent of its hospitals out of service, according to the World Health Organisation (WHO).
