Egypt seeks QNB network to promote state offerings, property projects

Egypt is seeking to use Qatar National Bank’s (QNB) international reach and client base to promote government offerings and real estate projects, as the country looks to attract more foreign investment.

Investment and Foreign Trade Minister Mohamed Farid discussed the proposals with QNB Group Chief Executive Officer Abdulla Mubarak Al-Khalifa in Doha on Thursday on the sidelines of the 2026 World Investment Forum.

The talks focused on using QNB’s global network and presence in Egypt to broaden outreach to international investors and raise awareness of investment opportunities.

Farid outlined the government’s planned offerings, including Misr Life Insurance, and said Egypt sought to reach a wider range of investors, including retail investors and high-net-worth individuals, through targeted promotional meetings coordinated with relevant authorities and investment banks.

The two sides also discussed presenting projects by Egyptian real estate developers to QNB clients in markets where the group operates. The proposed presentations would showcase investment opportunities and establish direct links between developers and potential investors.

QNB representatives said they were prepared to study the proposal with the bank’s Egypt team and identify suitable developers and projects, the ministry said.

The discussions are part of Egypt’s efforts to expand the investor base for government offerings and projects by tapping the international networks of financial institutions.

The proposals remain under consideration, with no confirmed promotional programme announced.
