Egypt, Türkiye reiterate commitment to Syria’s sovereignty, unity, territorial integrity

The Foreign Ministers of Egypt and Turkey have reiterated on Tuesday their commitment to Syria’s sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity, stressing the importance of ensuring that Syrian land does not pose a threat to any country.

During high-level talks in Ankara, Minister Badr Abdel-Atty and Minister Hakan Fida emphasised the need for a comprehensive political process that upholds the interests of the Syrian people. They also reaffirmed their shared stance on facilitating the voluntary and dignified return of displaced Syrians to their homeland.

Both sides highlighted the importance of countering terrorism at its roots and maintaining strong neighborly relations to promote stability in the region. The discussions underscored Egypt and Turkey’s joint vision for a peaceful and secure Syria, reinforcing diplomatic efforts for long-term regional stability.
