Egypt’s exports saw an increase of 6.3 per cent in November 2024, reaching a value of $3.56 billion, compared to $3.35 billion in the same month the previous year, the Central Agency for Public Mobilisation (CAPMAS) reported on Thursday.
The report attributed this growth to higher export values of key goods, notably petroleum products (up 85.5 per cent), ready-made garments (up 8.7 per cent), food products (up 22.9 per cent), and fresh fruits (also up 22.9 per cent).
The country saw a slight increase in the trade deficit, which rose by 0.5 per cent to $3.71 billion in November 2024, compared to $3.69 billion in November 2023, according to the report.
Despite the positive export performance, some commodities experienced a decline in their export values, such as crude oil (down 25.3 per cent), fertilisers (down 33 per cent), and frozen vegetables (down 1.4 per cent).
