Egypt’s food provider Edita first-quarter profits rise 87.8%

Egypt’s snack food maker Edita posted an 87.8 percent growth in its profits during the first quarter of 2019.

The company has logged a net profit of 114.3 million pounds during the three-month period ended 31 March, according to a statement.

Revenue amounted to 982.2 million pounds during the first quarter of the current year, rising 10.8 percent from revenue generated in the same quarter of 2018, Edita noted.

Meanwhile, the firm’s exports stood at85.7 million pounds, growing 33.8 percent year-on-year.
