Egypt’s Hassan Abdalla partakes in 2nd BRICS Finance Ministers, Central Bank Governors Meeting
Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE), Hassan Abdalla participated on Friday in the second meeting of BRICS Deputy Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors in Moscow.
This meeting, chaired by Russia, aimed to strengthen economic cooperation among the BRICS nations.
Discussions at the meeting covered a wide range of topics, including economic co-operation, payment systems, artificial intelligence, sustainability, and cybersecurity in the financial sector. On the sidelines, Governor Abdalla met with Governor of the Central Bank of Russia Elvira Nabiullina and First Deputy to discuss bilateral issues.
Earlier, CBE Deputy Governor, Rami Abu Naga represented the country at the fourth meeting of Deputy Ministers of Finance and Central Bank Governors on October 10th. He also took part in a seminar showcasing the fifth edition of the BRICS economic bulletin.
Egypt’s participation in the BRICS economic and financial track is a significant milestone, marking the country’s first involvement since joining the group in January. This provides an opportunity to address shared financial and economic concerns ahead of the upcoming BRICS summit in Kazan on October 22-24.
