Kenya has submitted an economic repair plan to the International Monetary Fund (IMF), with the IMF board expected to review it by the end of August, said Chief Minister Musalia Mudavadi on Tuesday.
The move follows severe youth-led protests against proposed tax hikes by President William Ruto’s administration, which resulted in over 50 deaths. Mudavadi emphasised that the Treasury has engaged robustly with the IMF amid ongoing challenges and expressed hope for a favorable review of Kenya’s plan.
