SOUQ.com enters a new partnership with Nestlé Egypt

SOUQ.com, the largest online retail and marketplace platform in the Arab world, announced on Sunday a new partnership with Nestlé Egypt which will facilitate the selling of food and beverages, making it the first fast moving consumer goods(FMCG) Company to sell its products for the first time on SOUQ starting from June 13th.

 Through the new agreement, Nestlé Egypt will be selling a range of products including Nescafe, Maggi, Nesquick, Nido and Cerelac. The products will be available to SOUQ’s customers online and ready for delivery across the country. Nestlé Egypt will also be offering some products exclusively on SOUQ to promote the new partnership.

 This comes as a first step towards SOUQ’s strategy to widen its grocery e-market activities which is expected to leverage similar partnerships with other brands in the near future. A recent study by shows that One-quarter of global shoppers say they are already ordering grocery products online for home delivery and more than half (55%) are willing to use it in the future.

 Commenting on this, Omar el Sahy, General Manager of SOUQ.com Egypt says: “We are very happy to be tapping new grounds in the FMCG sector at SOUQ.com. FMCG spending continues to dominate the household budgets, accounting for a forecast 35.6% of the total expenditure in 2016.
