Egypt spends EGP 24bn on developing unsafe slums since 2014, Madbouly
Egypt has spent 24 billion Egyptian pounds to develop unsafe and unplanned slums since 2014, according to Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly.
The country will be free of unsafe areas in the near future, Madbouly said in his speech during the 32nd seminar of the Egyptian Armed Forces on Sunday.
If population growth rate is reduced, the North African nation would save 670 billion pounds, he added.
He further noted that Egypt is one of few countries that managed to achieve economic growth despite the coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis.
