Egypt’s unemployment rate dips to 7.4% in Q4-2021

Egypt’s unemployment rate dipped to 7.4 percent in the fourth quarter of 2021 from 7.5 percent in the third quarter, state statistics agency CAPMAS said on Tuesday.

The number of unemployed stood at 2.2 million out of a total workforce in the October-December period, from 2.211 million in the July-September period, CAPMAS added.

The rate of the unemployed aged between 15 and 29 rose to 64.3 percent in the fourth quarter from 58.4 percent in the third quarter of 2021, CAPMAS added.
