Egypt’s trade value with Arab countries exceeds $14bn in H1

Egypt’s trade value along with the Arab countries rose by 19.2 percent to record $14.4 billion during the first half of 2022 from $12.1 billion in the same period in 2021, according to country’s  Central Agency for Public Mobilisation and Statistics (CAPMAS) on Tuesday.

The latest data of the CAPMAS revealed that Egypt’s exports to the Arab states has recorded a $466.5 million increase to reach $5.9 billion in the first half of the year, up from $5.4 billion in the same period in 2021.

Saudi Arabia was Egypt’s top import and export partner in the first half of the year with $1.2 billion in imports and $4.3 billion in exports, CAPMAS mentioned in a statement.

While, Libya ranked as the second-largest importer with $955.2 million and Kuwait was the second-largest exporter with $1.4 billion, the statement added.

CAPMAS noted that Egyptian imports’ value from Arab countries increased by 27.8 percent to reach $8.5 billion in the first half of 2022, compared to $6.6 billion in the same period in 2021.
