Saudi Arabia, Türkiye sign cooperation deal to boost mining field
Saudi Arabia and Türkiye signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to advance cooperation in mining sector, according to Turkish Energy Minister Alparslan Bayraktar announced Monday.
The deal aims to cooperate in the critical mines that are required in new technologies such as electric vehicles or solar panel, Bayraktar said. He added that the scope of the deal involves mining of critical minerals in Turkey and Saudi Arabia as well as third countries.
The MoU came as a followup to a series of deals reached on energy and oil cooperation between Ankara and Riyadh during Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s visit to the kingdom last month.
It is worth mentioning that the agreement was signed during a meeting between Bandar AlKhorayef, Saudi Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, and his Turkish counterpart Bayraktar, in Ankara.
