China blocks trade with US defence firms
China’s Ministry of Commerce announced a ban on several US defence firms on Monday in response to ongoing tension, as reported by Reuters.
The ban prohibits the companies from import and export activities with China and restricts new investments in the country.
General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, General Dynamics Land Systems, and Boeing Defence, Space & Security have been added to China’s “unreliable entities list,” restricting their access to Chinese trade and investment opportunities.
The restrictions extend beyond commercial activities. Senior executives from all three companies will be barred from entering China. Existing work permits, visitor visas, and residency statuses will be revoked, and future applications will be denied.
