Singapore Exchange SGX currently has no immediate plans to allow cryptocurrency listings, according to CEO Loh Boon Chye. Speaking at the Reuters NEXT conference, Loh stated, “not at the moment,” emphasising the need for a sustainable ecosystem, including demand, governance, and structure, before considering such listings.
He added, “The ecosystem, I feel, at this point in time, is not ready for such products in Singapore.” However, he left room for future possibilities, saying, “You never say never, as time evolves.”
SGX is under pressure to attract high-growth company listings and is focusing on strategies like secondary listings and new IPOs.
