Irish consumer sentiment slightly dipped in December, with the Credit Union Consumer Sentiment Index falling to 73.9 from 74.1 in November.
Although the index remains significantly below its long-term average of 84.3, it is considerably higher than the 62.4 recorded in December 2023, when Ireland was facing high inflation.
The report noted that the small decline signals little change in consumer mood over the past three months, with growing concerns about the economic outlook being offset by easing worries about household finances.
