Trade between Egypt and Greece recorded $1.6 billion in 2024, down from $2 billion a year earlier, according to recent figures published by Egypt’s state statistics agency, CAPMAS on Wednesday.
Egyptian exports to Greece also dropped to $1.1 billion from $1.4 billion in 2023, while imports from the Greece fell to $564 million from $657 million.

- Fuels, mineral oils, and their distillation products – $645 million
- Fertilisers – $104 million
- Vegetables and fruits – $85 million
- Plastics – $50 million
- Iron and steel products – $33 million
Top Imports from Greece to Egypt
- Fuels, mineral oils, and their distillation products – $276 million
- Cotton – $132 million
- Fruits – $54 million
- Tobacco – $15 million
Egyptian remittances from Greece totalled $15 million during the fiscal year 2023/2024, up from $14.3 million in 2022/2023. Meanwhile, Greeks’ remittances from Egypt reached $3.4 million, compared to $2.7 million in the previous fiscal year.
Greek investments in Egypt recorded $13.9 million in the fiscal year 2023/2024, up from $6.7 million in 2022/2023. Egyptian investments in Greece reached $1 million during 2023/2024, compared to $700,000 in 2022/2023.
