EBRD backs Türkiye’s livestock with €25m for green expansion

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is extending a €25-million loan to Turkish livestock feed producer Ofis Yem to bolster its green transition and promote inclusive employment practices.

The funds will support the construction of a new production facility in Samsun and licensed storage centres in Samsun and Adana, aimed at boosting supply chain efficiency and cutting post-harvest losses.

The investment also includes a solar farm in Çorum, expected to significantly reduce carbon emissions. Ofis Yem plans to adopt enhanced resource efficiency measures to curb food waste and support a circular, low-carbon food system.

The project will address declining female employment in Türkiye’s livestock feed sector, with Ofis Yem committing to improved gender inclusion policies and targets to increase the number of women in its workforce.
