Indian rupee slips as dollar strengthens after US court tariff ruling

The Indian rupee weakened on Thursday as the US dollar rebounded sharply following a federal court ruling that blocked most of US President Donald Trump’s proposed reciprocal tariffs.

By 11:30 a.m. IST, the rupee was trading at 85.5325 per dollar, down 0.2 per cent on the day. Other Asian currencies also slipped between 0.1 per cent and 0.6 per cent, while the dollar index rose above the 100 mark.
