Egypt’s Health Min. explores healthcare cooperation with MSD

Egypt’s Health Minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar met on Thursday with Regional General Manager of MSD Egypt Hazem Abdelsamie to discuss enhancing cooperation in healthcare, including support for women’s health and cancer research.

The meeting aimed to explore ways to improve healthcare services and advance joint efforts in line with current developments, according to Ministry spokesperson Hossam Abdel Ghaffar.

Discussions covered expanding collaboration on the national Women’s Health Initiative and strengthening coordination between MSD and Egypt’s Unified Procurement Authority (UPA).

The two sides also stressed the importance of research and development, particularly in oncology pharmaceuticals and clinical trials, ensuring both patient rights and mutual benefit, as stated in a Cabinet release.

Additionally, discussions included launching a regional platform in cooperation with the Arab League to showcase Egypt’s healthcare achievements and reinforce its regional presence, as per the statement.
